Curriculum
Roberto MIGNANI, born in Messina (Italy) in 1946, received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Palermo in 1970. He is now Associate Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Department of Physics ``E.Amaldi'' of the University of Roma``Roma Tre'', Associate Researcher of the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (I.N.F.N.) and member of the Italian National Group for Mathematical Physics (G.N.F.M.), National Institute of High Mathematics “Francesco Severi” (I.N.D.A.M.). Before coming to the University ``Roma Tre'', dr. Mignani was teacher and researcher at the Department of Theoretical Physics of Catania University, at the Department of Physics of L'Aquila University and at the Department of Physics ``G.Marconi'' of the I University of Rome ``La Sapienza''. At the above institutions, he taught undergraduate courses in Classical and Quantum Electrodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Physics, Advanced Quantum Theory, and Calculus. His research activity includes relativity theory, nuclear and subnuclear physics, field theory and mathematical physics, and he is the author of about hundred sixty publications in such fields. He is also the author of the books “Test di Fisica, vol. I and II” (Aracne, Roma, 1997), with R. V. Konoplich and N. A. Dobrodeev, of the historical-scientific book “Enrico Fermi e i secchi della sora Cesarina – Metodo, pregiudizio e caso in fisica” (Di Renzo, Roma, 2000), with F. Cardone, and of the theoretical physics monographs “Energy and Geometry – An Introduction to Deformed Special Relativity” (World Scientific, Singapore, 2004) and “Deformed Spacetime – Geometrizing Interactions in Four and Five Dimensions” (Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 2007), both with F. Cardone.
In June 2010 he received, at the university of Pecs (Hungary) the Telesio-Galilei award for physics. Ultimo aggiornamento della scheda:2013-03-24 |
